Today on 23 February of 2023, we are pleased to announce the commencement of Stand Maldives. 

Stand Maldives was developed to bring a positive change into the lives of everyone working within the Maldivian hospitality industry. An idea that began from a conversation and was brought into life, with a vision to unite and better the industry. 

Welcome to Stand Maldives! a platform for tourism workers to gather and share information with peers in their industry. We are a platform that strives for better workplace practices and for empowerment of employees through awareness of employee rights. 

We hope to unite workers across the industry, share information of workplace best practices and set a higher standard for the minimum requirements to be met by large-scale tourism operators. While change is a tough and long process we hope that through awareness of the industry practices and on the ground realities faced by tourism workers across the country we as employees would be able to advocate for better changes in our own workplaces to raise the standards of service given to tourism employees by our employers. 

Stand Maldives stemmed from an idea, and today we are pleased to bring this idea to life. We hope that you too will join our cause.
